A Cork Felon, The Life and Death of Brian Dillon by Walter McGrath, published by the Brian Dillon Commemoration Committee 1952.
It is a short History of one of Cork’s First Fenians.
(from the booklets section)
“It could be said that Dillon was one of the very first Fenians-in spirit at least. Away back in 1849 he had learned with approval of the foundation by Thomas Clarke Luby and James Fintan Lalor of a small secret organisation which was the forerunner of the I.R.B. And almost a decade later he must have been one of the earliest outside of Dublin to be sworn formally into the Fenian Brotherhood (as the I.R.B. was later generally called) Because he was in touch with James Stephens from the very beginning of the “Wandering Hawk’s” recruiting tours throughout the province”
